I found some really great ideas around the internet for family photo galleries and wanted to pass along my favorite: Tatertots & Jello’s Family Gallery Wall. Not only is this tutorial super thorough, Jen is really good at answering any lingering questions you might have: Your questions answered. I loved her design so much, I copied it completely:
I did a couple things different:
1. I painted the frames with Benjamin Moore’s Subtle to match the baseboards of the room and skipped the part about inking the edges. (Frankly, I didn’t trust myself to not ruin the newly painted frames.)
2. Instead of using canvas as Jen did for the initial piece, I bought a shadow box on clearance at Michael’s, painted the frame, covered the glass with the fabric and gorilla glued the “T” on top. The fabric behind the initial was found on FabricsBoutique’s Etsy page which fortunately sells fabric in fat quarters, so you don’t have to buy a lot more fabric than you need.
